Ethan will be 4 weeks tomorrow (Sunday 1-23-11). He still spends most of his time sleeping and eating. The short times during the day when he is awake and not fussy are precious! He spends his time looking around and turning his head toward mommy and daddy's voices. He has even started watching toys that are moved in front of his face including the monkeys on the mobile in his crib. It is hard for us to tell how much he has grown since we see him everyday but he has already grown out of a few outfits.

Happy Birthday Ethan!!!

Ethan Joseph Spaeth was born on Sunday, December 26th, 2010 at 10:36pm. We went into the hospital at 5:30am that morning for the induction and things progressed quickly. I was at 10 cm and ready to push at about 3pm. Bryon and Amanda were both in the labor/delivery room but Ethan was just not ready. He wasn't turned in the proper position in order for the pushing to have an affect on him. The doctor came in about 9pm and told us that a c-section was the only way. After that everything was a breeze, at least for me. Bryon told me I was snoring through half of the procedure. Everything went well and Ethan was born a healthy and happy baby.

35 weeks, 5 days

November 25- Everything is still going well. The doctor says if Ethan is born on his due date he should be 7.5 lbs. I feel like it will be more like 15 lbs. He feels like a giant in there. He is moving around less and less since he is running out of room. Almost time to move out I hope!

Week 32 (October 31-Nov 6)

I went to my check-up on Friday and the Doctor said that all my numbers were good. She also said if I delivered close to my due date we could expect Ethan to weigh about 7 lbs. Bryon and I finished our birthing classes this week. The main thing I learned was that I plan to get an epidural!

Gatlinburg Trip 9/17-9/19

Two weekends ago we traveled to Gatlinburg, TN with our Bible Talk group from church. The top picture is actually the view from our cabin. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. There was a full kitchen, pool table and a hot tub. My kind of camping!

To the left is a picture of the girls enjoying our time at a girlie tea house. And yes the guys had to come along too. I think they enjoyed it more than we did, but I think that had mostly to do with the yummy desserts!

This trip was Ethan and Bryon's first times in Tennessee. The mountains were beautiful and the leaves were just starting to change a little bit. It helped us start to get into the Fall spirit...well all except for the 90 degree temps!

Week 22

Today is the middle of week 22. It has been 8 weeks since I have posted pics. The baby is growing by the day or so it feels like it. He has been giving me extra pressure up under my ribs. I am assuming that since he is not up that high he is just pushing my organs up into my ribs, great thought. Whatever it is it can be very uncomfortable. Besides that everything else is well.

We started putting together the nursery, well more like adding more things and packing it full. We picked up the furniture and other goodies for my cousin Kim's house and now you can barely get into the baby's room. This room is currently our baby/guest/exercise/music room. Needless to say there will be some downsizing with the items to make it only a nursery.

When I was out today looking for a birthday gift for a friend I came across a few sock monkey items that I just could not pass up. We really don't have a theme to the baby's room but I thought a few sock monkeys never hurt. They are cute and not too creepy like some can be. Check out the pics.

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!

Well we found out on Thursday (8/5/10) that we are having a boy! We both are very excited and happy to finally know what the baby is. Right now he is going by Ethan Joseph. From the picture below you can tell that Ethan is not a very shy baby. We were worried we might catch him sleeping or being modest. No problems here! Not only was he happy to show us his little boy parts but he spent most of the ultrasound doing back-bends or marching on mommy's bladder (He has long skinny legs just like daddy). We may have our hands full come December!!!
